Burnished by hand with the back of a spoon until the clay surface shines like polished leather, then saggar-fired to preserve the burnish, this black vessel is one of the most laborious pieces we make. Height: 35 cm. A dramatically beautiful object rooted in ancient African pottery traditions. Signed.
